Bio
Allyson Rocco is a multi-disciplinary artist residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Rocco studied Fine Art at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (2012). She was born and raised in Minnesota.
Rocco has formal education in drawing and painting with an emphasis on figurative works and portraiture.
Sewing and fiber arts began as a hobby for Rocco who would create abstract quilts or 3-D figurative fiber sculptures in her spare time.
Rocco's studio is located inside Var Gallery.
She can be found co-hosting figure drawing sessions at The Drawing Room.
By exploring multiple mediums and techniques Rocco appreciates their connecting principle thread: the line.
Using faint and continuous lines, Rocco builds up form and shadow to bring figure or landscape to life. Working quickly to capture coffee drinkers, the passing of powerlines along a highway, or the subtle shift of light at sunset.
Rocco seeks to preserve her personal experiences of fleeting moments through her artwork.
